Stars poised to shut door on Gateway        Posted on Friday, Feb 12th 2010

Shooting Stars are poised to bounce back to reckoning when they play host to Gateway FC of Abeokuta in a Week 19 Globacom Premier League match at the Liberty Stadium this weekend.

3SC’s General Manager and interim coach Mutiu Adepoju says his objective is to win and win well on Saturday.

“We have no option but to win this weekend’s game (against Gateway). Our position on the league log is generating a lot of concern amongst our teeming fans and club stakeholders.

“This is a situation we have to address as soon as possible. We have prepared very well for this match. All our regular players are fit and are aware of how significant Saturday’s game is,” Adepoju said.

Gateway are storming Ibadan hoping to improve on their 13th position on the premiership table.

But the stars could be more primed for the three points at stake as they currently sit at the bottom of the 20-team Globacom Premier League and anything short of victory on Saturday could spell further doom for them.
