Oluwaniyi leads 3SC stars to Eagles debut Posted on Friday, March 5th 2010 Newly unveiled Nigeria Technical Adviser Lars Lagerback was in attendance as an observer. The make shift Nigeria side was captained by Malaga star Obinna Nsofor as stand-in coach Daniel Amokachi handed first caps to Denmark-based Peter Utaka and several home based players amongst them the Shooting Stars trio of goalkeeper Segun Oluwaniyi, Uche Nwafor and Nofiu Taiwo. Oluwaniyi started the game and made numerous outstanding saves until he was substituted by Bassey Akpan late in the second stanza, due to injury. Nwafor and Taiwo made their entries in the second half. The game was always going to be a one sided affair, with the Congolese offering little in terms of contest and quality. A brace from Obinna Nsofor put Nigeria firmly in the driving seat, with the other goals coming off the boots of Peter Utaka, Osas Idehen and a Congolese defender.
