No cause for alarm, Boamah assures  Posted on Friday, Oct.23rd 2009

In spite of his team’s precarious position in the five-week old Glo Premier League log, Shooting Stars Chief Coach Phillip Boamah says there’s no cause for panic.

“The defeat by Sunshine Stars has come and gone, although we could have earned a better result if the referee had been fair. But all the same we are ready to pose an even bigger challenge when the league restarts next month,” he promised.

Last Sunday’s game in Akure, which was settled by Ibrahim Babale’s 58th minute goal, witnessed some biased officiating by centre ref Shamang Banaba from Kaduna State.

Shooting Stars Media officer Jubril Arowolo questioned the rationale behind the sending off of centre back Yomi Adigun in the 75th minute of the highly-explosive match.

“The dismissal of Yomi adigun for indiscipline was uncalled for. The ref obviously had a hidden agenda otherwise it was an undeserved red card. He (the ref) was simply biased,” Arowolo fumed.
Shooting Stars have so far won a game, drawn once and lost thrice to place 16th in the five-week old Glo Premiership.

The league goes on recess from this weekend but Shooting Stars will resume their premiership obligations with a home match against Kaduna United on November 18.
