Fed Cup: Oluwaniyi the hero as 3SC edge Bukola Babes         Posted on Friday, May 28th 2010

Goalkeeper  Segun Oluwaniyi emerged the hero as Shooting Stars eliminated Bukola Babes of Ilorin 4-3 on penalties in a Federation Cup Round of 64 fixture decided at the  Oshogbo Township Stadium on Thursday.

Scores at regulation time stood at 0-0, and in the ensuing shoot-out, 3SC converted four kicks through Olamide Adigun, Taiwo Hassan, Timothy Idogbe and Uche Nwofor while their opponents could only score three of theirs, with Oluwaniyi saving the last kick taken by a Bukola Babes player.

By this victory, Shooting Stars, who hold a national record of five wins in the competition, have now qualified for the Round of 32 of this year’s edition.
