Delta Force hit Ibadan for league cracker Posted on Friday, Jan. 2nd 2008
The battle line is drawn for Saturday’s National First Division Group B cracker between Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan and the visiting Delta Force FC of Asaba.
Oyo State Pillar of Sports Alhaji Abiodun Ajagbe will be the Special Guest of Honour at the game which kicks off 4pm at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
3SC Media Officer Jubril Arowolo disclosed that Alhaji Ajagbe is scheduled to visit the team during Wednesday morning’s training session at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
His presence is expected to boost the super-charged Shooting Stars who have won all their four home matches so far.
Delta Force and Shooting Stars are placed second and third respectively on the Group B table, with just two points separating them. Remarkably both teams have scored 11 goals each in nine matches but Delta Force have conceded a fewer number of goals.
This weekend’s Week 10 tie is the first between the sides this season and it promises a lot of excitement.
Interestingly, Delta Force are coached by a former Shooting Stars ace and Nigeria ex-international defender Bright Omokaro.
Meanwhile the Shooting Stars management is calling on the club’s teeming fans to come in their large numbers and render their full support as 3SC step up the battle for promotion.
