Chief Olukanmi goes home


Erstwhile Shooting Stars boss Chief Olufemi Olukanmi was laid to rest last Friday in his hometown of Ibadan .
 
The renowned soccer administrator passed away in London on September 30 following an illness. He was aged 72.
 
Until his death Chief Olukanmi was the Eekerin Olubadan, and his demise came just nine days before his official installation as the Asipa Olubadan, the fourth in rank to the throne.

Olukanmi was a former board member of the Nigerian Football Association (NFA) and former Chairman, 3SC Football Club of Ibadan. He was also the immediate past President of Oluyole Club of Lagos .
 
The burial ceremony, which was held at the Cathedral Church of St David’s in Kudeti, saw several dignitaries in attendance amongst them a former Governor of Oyo State David Jemibewon and Shooting Stars General Manager Mutiu Adepoju.
