Breaking News: Phillip Boamah replaces Howard as 3SC Chief Coach       Posted on Tuesday, Augt 11th 2009

Former Shooting Stars player and coach, Phillip Boamah has been appointed as the club’s new Chief Coach.

General Manager of the club, Mutiu Adepoju broke this latest development on Tuesday afternoon.

Boamah replaces Franklin Howard who was relieved of his duties as Chief Coach with effect from July 31, 2009

A member of the formidable IICC Shooting Stars team of the 70s, Boamah, who is of Ghanaian origin, also coached the club at a latter stage and won several laurels while starring for the Oluyole Warriors.

The choice of Boamah, according to 3SC’s General Manager and Technical Director Mutiu Adepoju, was informed by his pedigree, both as a former player of the team and as a tested coach.

“We considered several factors before settling for Phillip Boamah, amongst them, his dedication to the club as well as his unquestionable loyalty to Shooting Stars, a club he served diligently as a player and later as coach,” Adepoju explains.

“He’s also technically sound in the game, and for us there’s no better choice at this time.”

Boamah, who is returning to 3SC after a long absence, beat other contenders like Zachary Baraje, who had been short-listed for the plum job.
