Boamah charges team to beat Ocean Boys Posted on Friday,Nov. 27th 2009 Shooting Stars head coach Phillip Boamah is filled with optimism as the team tackles Ocean Boys in a crucial Week 8 Glo Premier League fixture at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. The veteran handler admits that the Oluyole Warriors desperately need to beat the visitors to improve on their lowly position on the premiership log. “We realize we are in a precarious situation and the occasion demands that we do something drastic. With all due respect, Ocean Boys are a strong side with so many promising players but I am sorry they can’t get anything from this game. “I have told my players to be fully focused because a little slip could be fatal. With the moral backing of our well-wishers and numerous fans we hope to have a good outing on Saturday and give everyone a nice sallah present,” Boamah enthused. After losing 2-0 to Lobi Stars in Makurdi last week, the pressure must be on Shooting Stars to win this weekend’s crucial encounter and improve on their league standing. Former champions Ocean Boys, who began the season with an impressive 1-1 draw away to Dolphins, are placed 8th on the 20-team log while 3SC currently lie in 13th position. Attacking midfield ace Tope Oelope shares Boamah’s optimism ahead of the game, and has promised 3SC fans a rewarding day. “We know how significant the match is, not only for us but for all our fans and the people of Ibadan , that’s why we have prepared very hard for it. In this regard I wish to affirm that Shooting Stars are condemned to win on Saturday,” said the Nigeria ex-junior international. With Shooting Stars’ medics reporting a clean bill of health for the team’s leading players ahead of the weekend cracker, 3SC’s fans should have a lot to cheer, as leading scorers Hakeem Adebisi and Tope Orelope are expected to start.
