Boamah anticipates fruitful premiership campaign    Posted on Thursday,Sept.3rd 2009

Shooting Stars Chief Coach Phillip Boamah says his team has all it takes to make a good impact in this season’s Globacom Premier League.

In a chat with shootingstarssc.com shortly after Wednesday’s friendly game away to First Bank FC in Lagos, the veteran handler stressed that the players are learning fast and with the new quality acquisitions in its fold, 3SC are poised to compete for honours against the big boys of Nigerian football.

He harped on the team’s new strike force which will possibly include Kabiru Alausa, an experienced forward who has plied his trade with Julius Berger and Heartland FC and actually played for Shooting Stars three seasons ago.

“We are still trying to figure out the best way to use him because, I think he’s a massive player for us, highly experienced and invaluable,” says Boamah.

“Well, so far so good, but am very optimistic that we are going to have a strong team in place, a team that will be capable of making a good showing in the league.  For now we are trying to find our rhythm. A couple of friendly matches more and we shall be ready,” he promised.

He called on Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala to fulfill his promises to the team “so that we can continue to achieve results.”
