Federation Cup: 3SC hold El-Kanemi, remain tops in Group B     Posted on Friday, June 26th 2009

Shooting Stars remained on top of Group B log following Thursday's
goalless draw against El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri at the Uyo
Township Stadium.

The Round of 16 Federation Cup game lived up to pre-match analysis,
with both teams giving fans full value for their money.

3SC Media Officer Jubril Arowolo reports that goalkeeper Segun
Oluwaniyi had an outstanding game for the Oluyole Warriors as he
combined well with his defence-line to ward off the goal-hungry
El-Kanemi strikers.

The Maiduguri side were under immense pressure to secure the maximum
points having drawn their opening game against FC Taraba on Tuesday,
but they met an equally resilient 3SC side who were intent on
retaining their leadership status in the group.

Shooting Stars will now look to consolidate on their position when
they confront FC Taraba in one of the group's last fixtures on
Saturday.

Earlier, Ila Orangun and FC Taraba had also finished their game on a
goalless note.
