Shooting Stars got their pound of flesh over Sunshine Stars when they recorded an impressive 2-0 win over the Akure-based team in a Glo Premiership game decided at the newly-refurbished Lekan Salami Stadium last Saturday.
It was Shooting Stars’ first victory at the Lekan Salami Stadium since returning to the venue this month.
The tie was deadlocked at half time but second half goals by home-based Super Eagles striker Uche Nwofor and new boy Karimu Shaibu ensured Oluyole Warriors walked away with the maximum points at stake.
Sunshine had edged 3SC 1-0 when both sides clashed in the opening round last October in Akure.
Mutiu Adepoju’s side thus consolidated on their Glo Premier League standing by moving up to 11th place on the log, while Sunshine remain in 7th position.
